Step 1: Obtain a Job Offer

  • Secure a job offer from a Turkish employer.
  • The employer must apply for a work permit on your behalf.

Step 2: Employer’s Application for Work Permit

  • The employer submits an application for a work permit to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MLSS) or applies online through the e-Government system.
  • The application includes necessary documents such as the job offer, your qualifications, and the employer’s information.

Step 3: Approval of Work Permit

  • The MLSS evaluates the application and makes a decision on the work permit.
  • If approved, the MLSS issues a work permit notification to the employer and the applicant.

Step 4: Work Visa Application

  • With the work permit notification, you apply for a work visa at the Turkish consulate or embassy in your home country.
  • The visa application requires documents such as passport, work permit notification, visa application form, and passport-sized photos.

Step 5: Medical Examination

  • After arriving in Turkey, you may be required to undergo a medical examination at a designated healthcare facility.
  • The medical examination checks for infectious diseases and overall health condition.

Step 6: Residence Permit Application

  • Apply for a residence permit at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management in the city where you will reside.
  • The residence permit application includes documents such as passport, work permit, rental contract, and proof of health insurance.

Step 7: Residence Permit Issuance

  • If the application is approved, the Directorate of Migration Management issues a residence permit allowing you to legally reside and work in Turkey.
  • The residence permit is usually valid for the duration of the work permit.

Step 8: Work and Residence in Turkey

  • Begin working for the employer as specified in the work permit.
  • Ensure compliance with Turkish labor laws and regulations.
  • Renew both the work permit and residence permit before they expire, if necessary.

Step 9: Pathway to Permanent Residency

  • After residing in Turkey for a certain period of time (usually five years), you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency.
  • Permanent residency allows you to live and work in Turkey indefinitely.
