UK Work Visa

Overview

The UK Skilled Work Visa is intended to attract highly skilled workers into the labor market with the goal of encouraging them to stay permanently.

This visa allows Highly Skilled professionals as per the shortage occupations list to get an offer letter without the labor market test and stay in the UK for up to 5 yrs.

Because of its multicultural environment, world-class education system, and excellent pay wages, the United Kingdom is one of the most popular immigration destinations. Thousands of people enter and work in the United Kingdom each year.

Work permits do not require the applicant to fall or qualify on the point-based system, and thus are not a path to permanent settlement; however, they do allow you to settle down as a citizen after meeting certain conditions. The visionary leadership, transparent government policies, and simple visa immigration procedures make life easier for overseas workers looking to make a career in the United Kingdom.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

  • Job Offer: Ensure you have a confirmed job offer from Dream Path Overseas in the UK.
  • Sponsorship: The company must be a licensed sponsor with the UK Home Office.
  • Role and Salary: Verify that the job role meets the skill and salary requirements set by the UK government.

Step 2: Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)

  • Sponsorship Request: Dream Path Overseas will apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship on your behalf.
  • Assigning CoS: Once approved, you will receive a unique reference number (CoS) which you will need for your visa application.

Step 3: Prepare Documentation

  • Personal Documents: Gather your passport, proof of knowledge of English (e.g., IELTS), tuberculosis test results (if applicable), and proof of sufficient funds.
  • CoS and Job Details: Include the Certificate of Sponsorship reference number and detailed job information provided by Dream Path Overseas.
  • Additional Documents: Police clearance certificates and educational qualifications may be required.

Step 4: Apply for the Visa

  • Online Application: Complete the visa application form online via the UK government’s website.
  • Fee Payment: Pay the required visa application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) which allows access to the National Health Service (NHS).
  • Biometric Appointment: Schedule and attend a biometric appointment to provide fingerprints and photographs.

Step 5: Submit Your Application

  • Submit Documents: Send all required documentation to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) or upload them online if applicable.
  • Processing Time: The standard processing time for a UK work visa is usually around 3 weeks if you’re applying from outside the UK.

Step 6: Visa Decision

  • Receive Decision: Once a decision has been made, you will be notified and your documents, including your passport with the visa vignette, will be returned.
  • Travel to the UK: If your visa is approved, you can travel to the UK. Make sure to enter the UK within the validity period of your visa vignette.

Step 7: Collect Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

  • Collection Point: Within 10 days of your arrival in the UK, collect your Biometric Residence Permit from the designated post office or service center.
  • Verification: Ensure all details on your BRP are correct. This card is proof of your right to work and stay in the UK.

Step 8: Post-Arrival Requirements

  • National Insurance Number: Apply for a National Insurance Number if required. This is necessary for employment and tax purposes.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all visa conditions and stay informed about your rights and responsibilities as a visa holder.
